Jim has been a prominent front ensemble arranger & composer in the drum corps activity for nearly 15 years. He was a component of the Blue Devils A Corps staff from 2006-2017, which amassed 7 DCI Championships and 4 Fred Sanford High Percussion awards during his tenure as front ensemble arranger & caption head. Jim entered a new role as the music coordinator & brass arranger for the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps in 2018. In addition, he has been the Front Ensemble Caption Head and Arranger for Tokyos Soka Renaissance Vanguard since 2007.
In the WGI Percussion realm, Jim has been the music coordinator & front ensemble arranger for RCC Indoor Percussion since 2004, recording several gold medals along the way. Past indoor percussion credits include 22 years of arranging & instruction at seven-time WGI PSW medalist Mission Viejo High School, and 15 years at five-timeWGI PSA medalist Loara High School.
Jim arranges marching band winds for several programs including the 2015 BOA Grand National Champion Broken Arrow High School and BOA finalist William Mason High School.
Jim manages his percussion & marching band website Wunderpit Music, and is a member of the WGI Hall of Fame and a founding member of the Southern California Percussion Alliance.
