Robert McCormick is currently Professor of Music at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He served as principal percussion/assistant timpanist with the Florida Orchestra for 20 years. He is a former member of the Harry Partch Ensemble. McCormick has published dozens of critically acclaimed CDs as director of the McCormick Percussion Group. In 2015 he received the Percussive Arts Society Lifetime Achievement in Education Award.
