Born in Vancouver, Canada, and raised in Germany, Kevin Hein began playing drums at the age of nine. He soon started touring nationally across Germany while still in school, laying the foundation for a career shaped by live performance and a strong sense of musical identity.
Seeking to further develop his playing across a wide range of styles, Kevin moved to London, UK, where he studied at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute and immersed himself in both the creative and professional aspects of the music industry. Since then, he has toured internationally with artists such as As December Falls, Casey Lowery, and Fredrik Ferrier and more, performing on stages worldwide and contributing to a variety of live and recording projects.
In addition to his work as a drummer, Kevin is experienced in the technical side of modern live performance. Working with playback systems in Ableton Live, MIDI integration, and show programming, he regularly supports artists beyond the drum kit and has also taken on roles as a musical director. This broader understanding of live production allows him to approach performances with both musicality and technical precision.
Alongside his touring career, Kevin has built a successful teaching practice, working with over 60 regular students. His approach combines strong technical foundations with practical, real-world experience, helping students develop as confident and versatile musicians.
