Jago – Originally from Liverpool and now rocking the Los Angeles & New York City music scenes (after stops in London, Las Vegas, and Toxteth), Jago has been living the dream as a versatile musician since 1993. Whether it’s performing original material with singer-songwriters, touring with major artists, or laying down tracks in the studio, Jago’s musical journey has taken him all over the globe.
As a session musician, Jago’s tour credits include legends like Neil Diamond (taking over from Ron Tutt on the 50th Anniversary Tour), Boy George, China Crisis, The Calling, and Barclay James Harvest. He’s also worked with The Alan Cumming Band, Gregg Wright, Philip Sayce, and more. Along with Matt Deacon, he makes up The Bob Lazar Story, a progressive rock duo creating music for the sci-fi Rock nerds among us.
In the world of theatre, Jago helped launch the Los Angeles production of “Wicked” in 2007 and continues to be a part of the Wicked family today. His other stage credits include Kinky Boots at the Hollywood Bowl, Rent Live for Fox, and playing the character Schlacko in Hedwig and the Angry Inch in London’s West End and Edinburgh. He’s also toured with Disney’s Frozen and contributed to Taboo with Boy George on the West End and Broadway also recording soundtracks for both the UK and US productions.
These days, Jago’s hitting the stage in The Great Gatsby, a Broadway show he originated, and helping to bring new productions like Paradise Square and Shucked to Broadway and beyond. He’s also gearing up to perform in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl with Cynthia Erivo this summer. Jago continues to perform live with Alan Cumming and Meow Meow nationwide whenever needed.
None of this possible without playing every dangerous and seedy dive bar in Liverpool, New York, and LA.
When he’s not on the road or in the studio, Jago runs Shabby Road Studios in Woodland Hills, CA, his own studio where he continues to work with some of the best talent in the industry.
