I’m a Panamanian drummer from La Villa de Los Santos, a region known as the cradle of our country’s folklore. I grew up surrounded by guitars, accordions, percussion, and great mostly empirical musicians. At seven years old I moved to the United States, where I later became part of the Miami punk scene of the early ’90s. I spent several years in New York going through more than 80 auditions. The rejection and experience I gained there became a turning point in my musical formation, shaping my discipline, versatility, and identity as a professional musician. With over 28 years in the industry, I’ve built an international career as a drummer, producer, and composer, always focused on adapting to any musical context while serving the music first.
My playing blends the power and aggression of punk and hardcore with the groove of Caribbean and Latin rhythms, reflecting both my Santeño roots and my rock ’n’ roll formation. Since 2015, I’ve been honored to represent Zildjian. Today I continue working as a session drummer, producer, musical director, and educator, committed to pushing Panamanian music forward while bringing my voice and my history to every stage and recording session.
