  • WHAT INSPIRES YOU?

I’m inspired to follow my passions wherever they lead from performing with my band The Revivalists to writing and producing records and beyond music through painting, immersing myself in nature, reading, and spending time with loved ones. I find that keeping myself inspired in every avenue of my life feeds my musical creativity and cultivates a rewarding experience of life. Finding joy in expression is the most important aspect for me. I’m happiest and at my best when I’m searching, pulling the thread of an idea or technique to see where leads.

  • WORDS OF WISDOM FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRUMMERS

You have to fall in love with the process of the craft. Playing music with other people is far more important than impressive chops; however, practicing is how we gain the dexterity to express more fully the complex feelings different musical conversations require. Music is an ancient language that unites us across cultures extending beyond generations. It’s a beautiful thing when people combine their energies to make music together. You can hear their heartbeats in service of something greater than any one persons ego. The bands that always impacted me the most weren’t necessarily made up of the most impressive individuals, it was the ones who cultivated a magic somehow greater than the sum of their individual parts that made me want to play music. When you practice, practice slow and with a metronome. The feel is in the air between the clicks.

  • FAVORITE ZILDJIAN CYMBAL/COMBO

It changes depending on the situation but currently my favorite cymbal is the 20” K Constantinople Medium Thin Low Ride
