Mark Whitfield Jr. was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. Surrounded by music from an early age, he developed a deep connection to the art form that would shape his career. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in 2011, Mark returned to the New York City area and briefly attended Manhattan School of Music before launching fully into the professional jazz scene.
