Ian Mosley is best known for his long-time membership of the rock band Marillion, which he joined for their second album, Fugazi, released in 1984. Prior to joining the band, he had been an in-demand session drummer and played drums for former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett, on two of his solo studio albums and on tour. He also played for Daryl Way's Wolf, Gordon Giltrap and on the 1975 album Birds by Dutch band Trace. Modern Drummer has described him as a "drumming great".
