Tony has had an eclectic journey playing drums since grade school. The numerous artists he has played for include Grammy award winner Dennis De Young (Styx), Irene Cara, Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Carl Anderson (Weather Report), Ben Vereen (Tony Award winner), Lesile Uggams (Tony Award winner), Kevin Spacey (Academy Award winner), and Jack Black (School of Rock). Favorite band experiences include 80's pop heavyweight Expose' and award-winning Australian pop group Human Nature. Recording sessions include pre-records for the American Music Awards and the Academy Awards, Broadway albums at Abbey Road Studio (UK), and dozens of TV shows and jingles. Tony has played an array of Broadway shows, national and international tours, with symphony orchestras and at jazz festivals. Recent jazz concerts include Glenn Williams, The Les Paul Trio, and the Ed Palermo Big Band at top venues like The Iridium, The Cutting Room, and the Philadelphia Jazz Festival. Tony actively writes and performs with his own band, The Tony DeAugustine Quartet. Dedicated to music education, he has taught drums at the Armed Forces School of Music, Dick Grove School of Music, Day Jams, Music and Arts, and maintains a schedule of private students. His educational books include "Creating the Consistent Drummer" and "The Jazz Drummer's Guide." This year, Tony will be hitting the road with the 50th Anniversary Tour of "Jesus Christ Superstar," touring the USA and Canada, starting the fall of 2019 thru 2021.
